The 2018 international conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS)was held in Madrid, Spain on October 1-5, 2018. As Madrid, Spain is one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Europe, researchers and students participated not only to explore the frontier of science and technology in intelligent robots and smart machine but also to experience the rich scenery and culture of Madrid.
The conference demonstrated the largest robotic exhibition in the history of IROS. Also, IROS held technical sessions, multi-media presentations, panel discussions, workshops, tutorials, and technical tours to enhance professional communications among the attendees.
The primary focus of the conference is human-robot interaction and intelligent perception. Moreover, the conference tackled social aspects such as legal issues, robotic ethics, and human-robot co-existence.
Together with Professor Sehoon Oh, PhD students Chan Lee and Jung Hyun Choi represented MCL in IROS 2018. Chan Lee presented his study: Novel muscular exercise with programmable exercise load. Whereas, Jung Hyun Choi presented his research: Development of Stone Throwing Robot and High Precision Driving Control for Curling.
